In the years 1980-86, out of 4, 836 birth in the middle district of Saga Prefecture, 4, 532 infants of two to six months old were examined of their hips at public health centers. The results showed that there were six cases of treated congenital dislocation of the hip and nine cases of missed one despite their having neonatal examination. The average age of the infants of missed dislocation at the time diagnosed was 3.3 months old, and all were immediately reduced with Pavlik herness.This investigation suggested that the incidence of CDH was 0.310%.
