Senile Osteoporolsis; Bone Mineral Density by DIP Method and Clinical Results of Treatment.

In 86 female patients with osteoporosis, before and after treatments, bone mineral density (BMD) was measured by DIP method. They were followed-up for an average of 8.7 months. In grade I of the jidai index, 19 cases (58%) was excellent and good.In grade II of the jidai index, 36 cases (77%) was excellent and good. BMD was increased in both excellent and fair cases, but the increase of BMD in excellent cases was higher than that in fair cases. DIP method was the useful parameter for an assessment of clinical results of treatment for the patients with oseoporosis.
