• To make an accurate diagnosis of so-called calcifying enchondroma, its common findings on 99 mTc-MDP scintigraphy, CT and MRI were investigared in 3 cases.Increase in 99 mTc-MDP uptake at the lesion sites were slight in scintigraphy, and CT disclosed that they were located within the medullary cavity. A lobular structure about 2-4mm in diameter was a characteristic finding on T2-weighted MRI sequences, suggesting cartilagenous tumors.These findings would be of use for discriminating between socalled calcifying enchondroma and other sclerotic bone lesions, especially chondrosarcoma, and metaphyseal bone infarcts.
