With the purpose of studying the motion of the parts of the shuttle change mechanism, inertia force, frictional force, spring force, and crank angle. The wire strain gage picks up the load variation on the connecting rod between the 'pushing arm and the slider, and the load is recorded by an electro-magnetic oscillograph together with the crank angle.<BR>The initial acceleration of the shuttle change mechanism is about 90g ; inertia force due to new shuttle fed is 26 to 38 kilograms ; inertia force, frictional force and spring force of the snap guard tongue amounts to 109 kilograms ; 37 to 75 kilogram load acts on slider in order to force out the shuttle.<BR>For the revolutions between 166 and 188 per minute those values show almost no difference except the effect of the snap guard tongue.
