The elastic properties of yarns and fabrics have much to do with their structural deformation concerning twist.<BR>The forces and their moments required to make a certain deformation of a twisted structure, differ according to the sorts and moment of intrinsic latent force of the object.<BR>The least moment of deformation is apparent when the yarn is in a position of equilibrium.<BR>The torsional rigidity (GIp) of the elements should be taken in account with the elastic modules (EI) in order that characteristics of a twisted structure may be investigated. The sectional moduli of the elements are important factors as are the values of their E (elasticity) and G (rigidity). <BR>The elongation or contraction due to unsaturated twist has been explained for every system of twist. The kink in yarn, for example, has been statically analyzed and found to be a phenomenon of an overtwisted structure tending to settle in its saturated form.
