The compressional behavior of glass-fiber sheets has been investigated as a basis for analysing the mechanical properties of reinforced plastics.<BR> The compressional behavior of glass-fiber sheets was given by two segments of a straight line when plotted in double-logarithmic scales between thickness t<SUB>0</SUB> and pressure p, which intersect at critical pressure p<SUB>0</SUB> i, e., <BR>log t<SUB>0</SUB>=-m<SUB>1</SUB> log p+b<SUB>1</SUB>; p <p<SUB>c</SUB><BR>log t<SUB>0</SUB> =-m<SUB>2</SUB> log p + b<SUB>2</SUB>; P > p<SUB>c, </SUB><BR>where m<SUB>1</SUB>, b<SUB>1</SUB>, m<SUB>2</SUB> and b<SUB>2</SUB> are constants.<BR>The anomaly of the behavior as above was interpreted in terms of the movement of individualglass fibers.
