Unevenness of the warp tension or uneven deformation of fabrics in the process of weaving has a bad effect on their quality. The selvage curve which has a close bearing on the deformation of the fabric has been studied with the following results :<BR> (1) The relation between the weft tension (F) and the warp tension (T) is :<BR> F=KT/Xn+1 (1)<BR> (2) The selvage curve can be calculated by<BR> dy / dx = - ∫ K / xn+1 dx+C1 (2)<BR> where C1=tan θ<BR> (3) The setting angle of the temple can be determined theoretically.
