Results:<BR> (1) The frictional coefficient μ is determined from the variation of tension S1, S2, by running yarn on three frictional materials, and substituting S1, S2 into the following formula, μ=log (S2/S1) 2π loge, <BR>(2) The coefficient μ between raw silk and a duralmin cylinder is about 0, 20-0.22; between nylon and a duralmin cylinder, about 0.23-0.26.<BR> (3) The coefficient μ shows a tendency to increase with the increase of yarn speed.<BR> (4)The coefficient of kinetic friction of yarn is influenced by the surface condition o the yarn, small deformation at the touch place of running yarn, electro static charge, and heat-up by friction
