Principle of Special Small Capacitance Meter and Its Application in the Textile Industry

Recently many types of electrical moisture detector are used in a manfacturin industry for the purpose of measuring water content of various raw materials.<BR>Electrical method is superior to others for its quickness and simplicity as a moisture detector.Two methods of measurement are generally used as a moisture meter, one of them to measure the resistance and the other the capacitance of the material. Resistance type is not preferable because of its dependence on impurities and temperature of the material.<BR>Then we studied on a sped 1 type of direct reading capacitance meter to measure very small capacitance change of the material irrespective of its resistance.<BR>This type of capacitance meter has mare applications for industrial purpose. Four resonant circuits are used to obtain high sensitivity, high stability and yet to minimize the effect of resistance component of specimen. The maximum sensitivity is about 20-30 μA/0.001 pF.<BR>First, we treated theoretically on the new type of capacitance meter and then some expeirmental characteristics of measuring circuits and applications to textile mills are described.
