The MHD simulation study of space plasma phenomena, especially the global simulation of the solar wind-magnetosphere-ionosphere interaction, is described. In the first place we show the formation process of the magnetosphere, where the interaction of the solar wind with the geomagnetic field makes traces of the bow shock, the magnetosheath, the magnetopause, the polar cusp, the boundary layer and the plasma sheet. The magnetospehre is not stationary, but sometimes suffers from magnetic reconnection in the plasma sheet forming a large lump of plasma surrounded by reconnected field lines, a plasmoid. The southward interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) drastically enhances the reconnection rate in the plasma sheet, while no reconnection takes place when the solar wind carries the northward IMF. Secondly, we show that auroral arcs are spontaneously excited as a result of global feedback interaction between the magnetosphere and the ionosphere.
