Measurements of resilience were made on polyisobutylene and butyl rubber, the typical amorphous rubberlike polymers, over the temperature range from -70°C to 200°C. Temperature dependence of resilience was monotonous, and uniform molecular construction was infered. The glass transition occured over a wide temperature range, and its middle point, occured at -30--20°C, was far higher than brittle temperature. Though resilience was very small at room temperature, it gave large resilience at high temperature, and good heat resistance. From frequency dependence of Tg, the activation energy was given as 28.3Kcal/mol, and size of segment in transition state was estimated.
