Diene Rubber has been fractionated by the successive fractional precipitation method using the dilute solution of benzene with methanol as precipitant. The fractions were examined both osmotically and visco-metrically in touene solutions at 30°C.The intrinsic viscosity molecular weight relationship has been obtained as [η]=3.90×10-4Mn0.713The molecular weight distribution function by this experiment have been compared with the results of Trans 1, 4 and Cis 1, 4 Polybutadiene. The parameter for the representation of average width of distribution function were discussed. The infrared spectra of carbon disulfide solutions of these fractions between 9 and 15.0 microns were examined by Hitachi Model EPI-2 spectrophotometer. The components of Cis 1, 4, Trans 1, 4 and 1, 2 Vinyl conformations were determined for each fractions. The relationship between the fractionation and components of each conformations were discussed. The second virial coefficient A2 have been calculated from the osmotic pressure′data and thier molecular weight dependence were found as A2∝Mn0.17.
