Some nickel salts were tested as antiozonants for natural rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber to gain further support to the conclusion obtained in the previous papers. As the result, bis (<I>o</I>-aminothiophenolato) nickel, bis (2-benzoimidazolethiolato) nickel, bis (diethyldithiophosphato) nickel and others were found to be effective antiozonants for these rubbers. Magnetic susceptibility and absorption spectra of UV and IR in these salts were determined to secure some informations on the chemical bonds between sulfur and metal atoms.<BR>According to the results, these salts seem to be bound with ds-hybrid orbital as shown in the previous papers they are reactive with ozone to protect ozone crack formation of the vulcanizates, while they are stable during vulcanization.
