High resolution nuclear magnetic resonance applied to the vulcanization studies of model compounds. Line shapes of the compounds were observed continuously at 145 °C.<BR>Line width of the compounds that consist of rubber, sulfur and accelerators diphenyl guanidine N-oxydielhylene-2-benzothiazole sulfonamide and dibeuzolhiazolbyl disulfide increased with crosslinking. On the other hand, line width of the compounds that consists of rubber and tetramethylthiuramdisulfide was unchanged. In case of polyisoprene, unchanged line width resulted from degradation of polymer chain but in case of polybutadiene, this phenomenon originated from ununiformally distributed crosslinking.
