The groundwater logging which is run into a borehole with differentiated water resistivities between the borehole and the aquifer is one of the most competent, direct methods for detecting groundwater in situ. The author details herein a few principal questions with regards to this method and presents a theoretical expression thereof: This expression provides us with an easy instrument to quantitatively determine the rate of groundwater flow into the borehole and the diffusion constant which is relevant to the groundwater pressure as well as the concentration gradient. Also attached herein is the standard curve S (u), which enables a graphical solution to the expression.
