In the fluorescent X-ray determination of zinc, copper, nickel and iron in zinc coating on aluminum plate, they were preliminarily determined by conventional methods (Zn, Cu and Ni by neutron activation and Fe by spectrophotometry), and working curves were prepared for the X-ray fluorescent intensities of K<SUB>α</SUB> lines of those elements and their concentrations.<BR>The linear relations held over the range of 47160μg/cm<SUP>2</SUP>, 0.327μg/cm<SUP>2</SUP>, 13.8μg/cm<SUP>2</SUP> and 112 μg/cm<SUP>2</SUP> for zinc, copper, nickel and iron, respectively. Time required for the determination of four elements in ten samples was less than one hour, excluding that for chemical analysis of standard sample.
