By minable relation, where a density given.substitution of an approximate but sufficiently accurate expression for chlorinity deter-from the result of ordinary chlorine titration, into the well-known salinity-chlorinity the following formula is obtained:- S= 0.030+(3.87153/19.37-α)a/ρ´15, where a and α are just the same as those in KNUDSEN'S "titration" table, while ρ´15 is the density of sea water of the chlorinity a‰ at 15°C. A nomograph for this equation is also given.
