Regardless of any factors appearing on scale, such as distinctness of resting zones, difference of distance between resting zones and density of distribution of circuli, the ranges between the focus and each resting zone have measured dealing with abundance of scales taken from numerous individuals landed at Fukuoka and Tokyo fish-markets. With regard to each material classified by age and localities from which the specimens examined were obtained, number of resting zones, appearing in the area increased in a year is from 1 to 5, 2 on average in both first and second areas. The limit of the area is determined by the distance between peaks which appear on the frepuency distribution curves of distance from the focus of scale in relation to the scale-length. Basing on scale analysis, the calculated body-length coresponding to each of the peak is 12, 18, 22, , 25cm respectively. This result agrees with that taken by M. Yamamoto. Finally it should be noted that the stock of this fish trawled in the East China Sea and landed at Fukuoka fish market is chiefly composed of fishes of 2-and 3-Years old. These fishes occupy about 80% of the total catch.
