The breaking strength of the various kind of guts, immerscd in fresh water for 24 hours, was measured in the term of Kgr. per mm. and denier per gr. The ratio between these values were found to be constant among the guts tested. The flexibility was expressed in Young's modulus, in which calculation was made measuring the force required for bending a gut in a circular.
