• It is very difficult to define NEYUKI (continuos snowcover) precisely. The author decided the first date, the last date and the length of NEYUKI over Hokkaido, according to the definition by Japan Meteorological Agency. As the normals are not satisfactory statistical data, for the puropose of planning of agriculture and other industry, he showed the fluctuation in long rang average of NEYUKI and their standard deviation, obserbed minimum and maximum covering the last 10 years. He proposed a simple methode to forecast the last date of NEYUKI.
