We investigated the effect on the movements of the bodys center of gravity (CG) of the distance between the eyes and the target in normal adults with a straingauge type stabilometer and a minicomputer.<BR>1) The total length and area of CG movement increased as the distance between the eyes and the target lengthened.<BR>2) The size of the visual target had no significant effect on body sway.<BR>3) These results indicate that it is important to measure the distance between the eyes and the target in body sway tests.
