A case of ganglioneuroma of the parapharyngeal space in a 57 year-old male was reported. The patient showed palsies of the IX, X and XII nerves as well as the Horner syndrome. The tumor was within the jugular foramen. It was completely removed using a cervical approach without angle mandibulotomy, but the palsies of the IX, X and XII nerves and the Horner syndrome continued. A histopathological examination revealed ganglioneuroma. The patient was the fifth such case reported in Japan.
