• Exploration was attempted of the relationship between the flora and the inflammation in the epipharyngeal mucosa, which relationship, if any, is expected to be one of the possible diagnostic criteria for the epipharyngitis. For the purpose of the clinical use the author ination of the methyleneblue stained smear from the epipharyngeal area. The parallel reationship between the epipharyngeal flora and the clinical symptoms was thus found, which was remarkable in the case of an acute increase of the symptoms, indicating that the osis of the epipharyngitis.
