Three cleaners were tested of their washing power on the radioactive contaminated tea leaves, and some draining methods of washed wet leaves were investigated.<BR>In the cleaning tests, Dairy BON showed most effective on both points of view of excellent cleaning power and keeping qualities of tea. Lipon F followed the former in its effectiveness.<BR>In the manufacturing of washed leaves, six draining methods were tested. The draining method between steaming and primary heatingrolling process by a centrifuge and infrared radiation obtained the best effect on keeping the qualities of tea, and air-drying method before steaming process showed better than the others.
