We divided the ships into the size classes by the gross‐tonnage at the marine traffic survey. But it was difficult that we observed the gross‐tonnage at the survey. We will divide the ships into the classes by the these length. In this paper, for this purpose, we examined the relation of the gross‐tonnage, G, to the over‐all length, L, about Japanese 9003 ships of the Register of shippings. We got the result of the relation following, L=5.868*G⁰·³⁵⁸. In consequence 87.7% of all ships were agreed by two methods of the size classes.
