Only few researches have been reported concerning how we remember our experiences or events in our early childhood and how it affects our later behavior although it is pointed out that early childhood is important in human development. The purpose of this study was to explore how we reconstruct our experiences into meaningful episodes and to know how we consider our early childhood. Thirty-three adults aged in their early 30s and 91 undergraduate students in their early 20s participated in our investigation. They were required to recollect their memories in early childhood and to evaluate their vividness, confidence, and number of rehearsals. The results did not show any statistic differences between the two groups. It also turned out that most of the recollected items were not related to their events with many photos, but that more than half of the recollected items were related to ordinary plays in early childhood.
