The preservation of good environments of village-mounts is closely associated with local laws such as the Inagawa Town fundamental environment plan. In addition, a symposium concerning the function of village-mounts has been held, which stimulated the enlightenment of citizens in terms of wild animals inhabiting the region, such as wild boar, and the source of timber. A unique bylaw of Kobe city, which prohibits the feeding of wild boars to prevent harmful incidents in the city area, has been discussed. On the other hand, there are special traditional foods in the Inagawa town area, the pickled radish, "Bettara duke", piled with striped bamboo leaves, rice cake wrapped with striped bamboo leaves, "Sasa okowa", and the wild boar meat dish, "Botan nabe". The preservation of special traditional foods and protection of the wildlife in villagemounts should be established on the basis of suitable wildlife management and a deep understanding by the citizens of the wildlife inhabiting the region.
