The coreferentiality principle in the syntactic theory called the Basic Anaphora Rule (BAR), advocated by Hasegawa (1994), is substantially quite different from another syntactic principle, that is to say, the binding theory in the principles and parameters framework advocated by Chomsky (1981,1995,etc.). A coreferentiality principle like Principle A of the binding theory generally deals with anaphors applying at S-structure or Logical Form (LF), while the BAR is one of the two types of principles which determine the syntactic coreferentiality in Hasegawa's framework. Fundamental perspectives of his ideas are considered to be correct. However, there are some unclear points as to how his principles apply with respect to the relation between each principle. In this article I would like to point out that the definitions of Hasegawa's coreferentiality principles are not elaborated sufficiently and to make it clear with slight modification that the principles will be highly prospective.
