This paper is a revised and enlarged version of Shimazu's （1988） paper entitled "Trematodes of the genera Coitocaecum, Dimerosaccus and Opecoehls （Opecoelidae: Opecoelinae） from freshwater fishes of Japan." It describes and illustrates three species in three genera （Digenea: Opecoelidae） from freshwater fishes of Japan: Coitocaecum plagiorchis Ozaki, 1926 （Opecoelinae）; Opecoelus ukigori Shimazu, 1988 （Opecoelinae）; and Dimerosaccus oncorhynchi （Eguchi, 1931） Shimazu, 1980 （Plagioporinae）. Diagnoses of the family, subfamilies, and genera are proposed. Some relevant data obtained since the publication of the previous paper are given.
