The Genus Macroclinidium Maxim., which is endemic in Japan, is most differentiated in south-eastern Tohoku district. Formerly these plants were often described or reported, viz. Macroclinidium rigidulum MAKINO, M. robustum MAXIM., M. trilobum MAKINO, M. Koribanum NAKAI and M. Suzukii KITAMURA. The last two species of them are generally considered as hybrid of M. trilobum × M. robustum, and M. trilobum × M. rigidulum, and are distributed in narrow ranges. So M. Suzukii was found only in the middle of southern Fukushima prefecture. M. trilobum was found in the forest at the foot of mountains from Yamagata to northern Ibaraki prefecture. I have been interested in these species for years, and have carefully investigated in the field. In this paper I show the ranges of this species and the figures of representative individuals of them. I was led to a reasonable conclusion as to taxonomical relationship between those species chiefly based on morphologicel observations.
