Ordering reaction of DO_3 type and phase separation in off-stoichiometric Fe_<3+X>Ga_<1-X> alloys were investigated by means of electron microscopy. Two types of sequence of ordering with phase separation from disordered A2 to (A2+DO_3) state were found on isothermal annealing at 873 K within the (A2+DO_3) phase field. The phase separation in an alloy with 21.9 at%Ga proceeds by nucleation and growth of the ordered DO_3 domains in the disordered matrix, while in an alloy with 22.5 at%Ga the DO_3 ordered phase once prevails with numerous antiphase boundaries, and then the disordered A2 phase precipitates along the antiphase boundaries. Furthermore, during isothermal annealing within the (A2+L1_2) phase field, the DO_3-type ordering also takes place previous to the formation of L1_2 phase. In the alloys with 21.9 and 22.5 at%Ga, once the single phase state of DO_3 is realized at 773 K, whereas in an alloy with lower Ga content of 21.3 at% the DO_3 phase appears locally in the form of droplets at 833 or 773 K.
