Time-of-flight technique has been used to study electronic transport in the films of triphenylamine derivatives in bis-phenol-A-polycarbonate binder. The hole mobility has been measured as a function of applied field, concentration of the molecules, and temperature. The results indicate that the hole transport occurs by the hopping among localized states associated with doped molecules. The carrier transport involves the series of one-electron oxidation-reduction process of the molecule. The influence of the substituted groups on the carrier transport in these triphenylamines were also studied. The hole mobility was varied by changing the substituent groups. The attempt has been made to explain the change in the mobility with Hammett constant σ_p, but some of the results were not consistent with that constant.
