Neutron dosimetry with He accumulation method is conducted by measuring He atoms produced in dosimeters by (n, xα) reactions. A He atom measurement system for this method has been developed in our laboratry. Capsules enclosing the neutron dosimeters are evaporated in the furnace simultaneously with the dosimeters which contain He atoms. If Ti is used as a capsule material, it is expected by getter effect to reduced background gases which are released in the furnace at the evaporation. In the present work, availability of the Ti capsule has been studied on the reduction of the background, diffuseness of He in Ti and induced activities by 14 MeV neutrons. The last item seems to be the most serious problem, although it can be solved by using the small capsule.
