Language management towards contact situations refers to one's accustomed management behavior towards language use in contact situations due to prolonged and continuous attempts in a given linguistic environment. By applying Neustupný's (1989a) typological approach, the present study aims to provide a preliminary framework to demonstrate how interdependent relationship between various types of accustomed language management should be described. The discussion will focus on accustomed language management towards the selection of codes and social networks as reported by two Korean Chinese informants during a fieldwork in Yanji city in northeastern China.
