In this study，two questionnarire surveys were carried out to get the data on the Service life of some members，which were slab，expansion joint，bearing，pavement and corrosion protection(painting), in steel bridges and their governing factors. By using the data obtained，the mean value and standard deviation of expected and real service life of the members were estimated, and the relationship between service conditions and life were investigated. Furthermore, it was clarified that the probability distribution of service life can be regarded as logarithmic normal distribution.
