Recycling of concrete is urgent for the purposes of the effective use of natural resources and the "zero emission" of industrial wastes. In this paper the nature of the recycled concrete with the use of limestone aggregate has been examined by the following procedures: Test1: comparison of the limestone aggregate and the aggregate from Kiso River as to their physical properties. Test2: effectiveness of interfacial zone stress between cement matrix and limestone. Test3: effective use of recycled fine powder. From the test results the recyclability of the limestone aggregate and fine powder is confirmed. However, there are some problems when the amount of the recycled fine powder reaches 30% of the total amount of the concrete. We should also consider other recycling methods.
