The object of this study is to clarify the effects on the dynamic behavior of samll models. Six small specimens were tested using the shaking table test. The cross section size was 75mmx75mm on a 1/18-scaled model. Peak table acceleration could be increased up to the collapse limit state when applying Kobe earthquake-like horizontal and vertical waves simultaneously. Based on the test results, the envelope curves of load-response displacements were examined. The observations confirm the accuracy of test results peformed on the 1/18 scaled models. But it was shown that the crack patterns in the collapse limit state were localized on the base of the column because of the mortar specimen.
