高脂肪・高蔗糖食幼若ラットに対する運動の効果について

Donryu strain 5-week-old male rats were divided into 2 groups [control group (n=11) and exercise group (n=10)] and were bred on high fat-high sucrose food for 4 weeks to examine the effect of animal exercise thereon. 1) Food intake per day during the whole period was 25.1 ±2.2g and 22.5±4.1g for the control and exercise groups, respectively, without a significant inter-group difference. Daily running distance was 9,022±3,806m at maximum (No. 21) and 1,285±450m at minimum (No. 17), averaging 6,449 ± 2,300m. Final body weight was 368 ± 23g for the control group and 294 ± 37g for the exercise group, with a significant inter-group difference (p< 0.005). 2) Plasma lipid following exercise showed significant inter-group differences (p< 0.10 each) for triglyceride and the LDL cholesterol values but not for total cholesterol value. 3) The running distance showed significant negative correlations (r=-0.796, p<0.01; r=-0.669, p<0.05) with body weight and triglyceride value, but not with total and the LDL cholesterol values. The above results suggested that continued exercise made it possible to decrease body weight and plasma lipid content even in case of rat's high fat-high sucrose intake at the growth stage.
