The present article was written to describe how I now organize my lectures upon receiving the Niigata University President's Education Award for 2006. First, I always pay attention to the students' characteristics in organizing my lectures. Then, taking their characteristics into account, I try to motivate them and raise their interest in order to facilitate their acquisition of the specialized knowledge that is desired in university education. For that purpose, each of my lectures are organized paying special attention to the following two points : 1) Promote the bidirectional exchange of ideas by asking students questions and discussing their reports in class and 2) Discuss my own field of specialization from a point of view that is applicable to al1 fields of study. In my case, I shed light on my specialized field of art education from the point of view of life theory and create my lecture content and methodologies accordingly.
