The purpose of this paper is to examine the transition of the view of the child in Tamura’s stories for children, especially from "Kodomo Michi-no-Shiori"(1880) to "Younen Michi-no-shiori"(1894). Tamura Naoomi was one of the thinkers who advocated "Child Rights" in Meiji period. He was a Presbyterian pastor and practiced religious education based on Child Rights at Sunday school. He also published Sunday school textbooks, teaching plans for teachers and stories for Children. At first, this paper shows Tamura's contribution to the Sunday school project in the history of Sunday school through the research of his published works. Furthermore, it examines the transition of the view of the child by focusing on his stories for children which describe the relationship between parents and children, and the relationship among children.
