論文PapersAn investigation of this paper is centrally concerned with a relation of thoughts between Louis Althusser and Henri Lefebvre. It aims to clarify Marxist relation between theory and practice behind a scene of humanist controversy arisen in 1960's. In the previous studies, each thinker has been treated in different domains; while Althusser have been studied in philosophy, Lefebvre in urban sociology and geography. Against the absence of criteria to evaluate their thoughts, this paper takes a humanist controversy for a common ground that allows to compare Althusser's theoretical anti-humanist position and Lefebvre's practical humanist position. In this perspective, the question is not to advocate either of two positions, but to make clear, by reading two thinkers'texts, a signification of the concept of man in each conceptual framework. For this purpose, firstly, the paper would show how Althusser situates the concept of man among his other concepts and themes such as "problematic", epistemological break, and theory of ideology. Secondly, it would investigate the concept of man utilized in Lefebvre's spatial theory. After having examined this contrast, finally, it would compare this opposition with the attitude of French Communist Party toward the concept of man in order to emphasize the importance of two philosophers'relation with regard to philosophy and politics.
