Assessing Factors Involved in University-level Foreign Students’ Satisfaction

MEXT’s aim to raise the number of foreign students to 300,000 by 2020 has prompted universities to implement a new infrastructure capable of handling the increasing number of students. Among educators, there is still debate concerning the benefits and drawbacks of the current interculturalization of Japanese universities. Against this backdrop, international students at Muroran Institute of Technology (MuroranIT) were questioned about their circumstances and levels of satisfaction. Their positive responses indicate some of the factors necessary to ensure foreign students’satisfaction.
