While a program of “essential motions leading to various movement” has been proposed in the area of physical development exercise, certain important points remain unclear ; for example, what specific outcomes we can expect through the practice of the program. In order to overcome this problem, we arrange the goals of exercise in terms of seven physical-coordination abilities, and we attempt to measure the degree of attainment concerning what specific abilities the students can develop through the program. In addition, we provide some discussions on the timelines of the program, focusing on ball-activities and rope-activities. Through our research, we find that the program proves beneficial especially on the development of “an ability that coordinates entire body movements,” which is shown in the results of the drills of “jump over and crawl under,” sidesteps, zigzag, and standing broad jump. However, with a male-studentsf low score in attitude, we can point out that the program may need some improvement ; it can be regarded as being passive for the male students, while female students can be involved actively in the exercise of the program.
