Nowadays, people are intimidated into having a special personality and special abilities in various places for example at work, in learning or in various special groups. It is said that one’s value as a human being is law if one dose not have any special personality and ability. However, such people face the loss of individuality even if they feel threatened by this message and try to pursue individuality. That is the paradox of the today’s individuality argument. In these notes, this paradox was examined according to four points:(1)The paradox of the manpower market which looks for an excellent personality.(2)The paradox of the theory of the personalization of learning.(3)The mechanism of personality loss from pretending to have a character that others look for.(4)The paradox of the search for personality inside the individual. The following can be said from this examination. The acquisition of the ability to be superior to others is not a condition for the realization of individuality. Ordinary ability has enough power to supports others and to realize oneself. The message that having ordinary ability will not result in individuality makes people compete with each other, and is an ideology that explo-its a person’s humanity.
