In a core wall system high-rise building, the center core of which consists of four L-shaped core walls, the axial load of the core wall is very high. Particularly the corner of the L-shaped core wall are subject to high compressive stress. Reinforcing these areas is therefore considered effective in improving the deformation capacity of the core walls. In this paper, lateral loading tests were conducted on wall columns which simulated the corner and the area near the corner of the L-shaped core wall.
