Poverty is one of the most significant problems in the Bidur Municipality of Bagmati Zone in Nepal. This Municipality has a higher rate of poverty compared to the other municipalities in the Zone. On the other hand, this Municipality suffers from poor condition of infrastructure facilities. This study identifies the significant aspect of infrastructures that affects poverty in Bidur Municipality. Since the concept of poverty has diverse aspects and discussed from many angles, the per capita income has taken for identification of poverty in the present study. Similarly, correlation and multiple regression methods have been used to identify the significant infrastructure variable on income level. The result of the data analysis showed that 30 % people are under the poverty line, which is higher than national urban poverty (10%). On the other hand, among the different infrastructure facility, paved roads have been found to be the most dominant infrastructure. However, such influencing variables as vocational training and employed on non-agricultural sector are also significant for income generation in the Municipality. It means that among all the variables of infrastructures, paved road is the most significant and dominant for income poverty reduction. This, together with conducive policy guidelines for investment on construction of paved roads may help reduce the poverty in the community, by creating economic opportunity for poor people.
