Extraction and chromatographic techniques were utilized to isolate eleven diterpenes,six triterpenes and one steroid from the bark and the wood on the Pinus luchuensis. Ninediterpenes such as 8α, 12 α-epidioxyabiet-13-en-18-oic acid, 9 α,13 α-epidioxyabiet-14-en-18-oic acid, 12 α-methoxy- abietic acid, 7-oxodehydroabietic acid, 7 α-hydroxydehydroabietic acid,15-hydroxyabietic acid, 12α-hydroxyabietic acid, 15-methoxyabietic acid and sandaracopimaricacid were newly found in P. luchuensis.
