When constructing GIS (geometrical infonnation system) space data base,it is important to build the topological re1ations such as the adjacency relations. In this study, we have developed a new GIS which adopts a new aIgorithm to construct a topological data structure. In generaI, a large scale of data base is obtained from the real map,so it is one of the major problems to construct a GIS topological data in high performance. In the conventional GISs,they reveal a tendency that the processing time increaes rapidly with the data size. The system we developed here adopts the aIgorithm with high perlormance to construct topological data. The performance test of the system constrcting topological data shows that the algorithm we adopted improves the processing time exceedingly,i. e. ,the processing time constructing topological data increases linearly with data size. The system is developed on a personaI computer in C language and is able to be implemented easily to other computers.
