Students who studied the subject "information" in high school, have entered universities since 2006. Several universities are surveying the acquired ability from the subject "information" among new students for arranging contents of information processing education for their students. Nagasaki University has conducted questionnaire surveys about the ability level on new students using selfassessment method for 5 years from 2006 to 2010. As the results, it was demonstrated that the skill of information processing of the new students has improved, however their knowledge on it had no remarkable changes during these 5 years.
