Effect of simple alkyl alcohol on radical polymerization of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm)in toluene at low temperatures was investigated. We succeeded in inducing syndiotactic-specificityand accelerating polymerization reaction at the same time by adding simple alkyl alcohols intoNIPAAm polymerization. Furthermore, effect of chain transfer agent on NIPAAm polymerization atlow temperatures was also examined. Living nature was observed with use of LED as UV lightsource even for the low-temperature radical polymerization.
